Volunteer Coordinator

£26,000 per year. full-time.
Can you work in partnership to create opportunities for our volunteers and our community?

The Volunteer Coordinator is a joint appointment between Merstham Community Facility Trust (MCFT) and the Merstham Mix Café (The Mix). The postholder will provide a single point of entry to volunteering at the Merstham Community Hub (the Hub) so as to maximise our ability to support existing and new volunteers and to expand our offer to members of the local community. This will include, for example, creating opportunities through work placements for hard to place individuals (working with mental health charities and probation) and young people from our local special needs secondary school.

We are keen to ensure that our volunteers have the opportunity to gain new skills and the Volunteer Coordinator will be developing, with appropriate training providers, a suite of accredited and informal qualifications around food and hygiene, IT skills and communication skills, all of which we believe will help our volunteers into paid work should they chose to move on.
