Garfield Weston Foundation
We wish to thank Garfield Weston Foundation for their generous contribution to MCFT, for two consecutive years. Their grant helps to fund core costs, including rent and service charges levied by Surrey County Council. Funding for these costs enables us to continue to provide essential support and services to our community.
National Lottery Community Fund
We are very grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for providing funding, for 3 years, for our Opportunities Through Partnership initiative. This was a partnership project between MCFT and The Merstham Mix Community Café, to promote and support volunteer involvement at the Merstham Community Hub. The funding meant we could employ our Volunteer Coordinator, providing a single-point of entry for volunteers to access a range of volunteering activities, training and personal development opportunities.
The National Lottery Community Fund grant also enabled us to employ our Community Centre Manager, who is responsible for ensuring that MCFT is able to operate efficiently and effectively as a small charity, in responding to the identified needs and aspirations of the local community, in partnership with that community and with others who share our aspirations and values.
We’re proud and grateful to have been awarded one of the National Lottery grants, it shows the value and importance of what we do, working with our local community. Their funding ended in June 2023 and we are currently able to continue employing the Centre Manager and Volunteer Coordinator through our charitable funds. We are seeking alternate funding to enable us to continue this.
Raven Housing Trust
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Raven Housing Trust for all they do for so many residents of Merstham. They have supported a range of individual people and families who have been experiencing difficulties – be this mental health issues or money problems. Additionally, they have supported the work of MCFT, and the Community Hub more generally, through financial support to specific projects (e.g. the benches and planter in front of the Hub) and in working in partnership with us in providing opportunities and services for the people of Merstham. We are delighted to be working alongside and in partnership with Raven Housing.
